When first offered an SMP saddle to assess, I was not convinced it could improve over the trusty Specialized Alias that has served me well over many miles. It did not take me long to come to the conclusion that the nice people at SMP were not going to get their sample back and that this was a product I wanted to offer BikeDynamics customers. From a personal point of view, although the absolute comfort is similar to my previous saddle, I find the desire to urinate is significantly reduced and at the end of the ride 'everything is normal'. For many triathletes, not having to stop as often on a long bike leg, could save as much, if not more time than any number of 'aero' devices. From a Bike Fitting viewpoint, the SMP products have the longest useable saddle rails that I have ever seen. Although expensive, this degree of adjustability often negates the need for a different seat post to achieve an optimum bike position.
